Hi, I am Pauline.

Although I was trained in the Person Centred tradition, over the years I have become Integrative and call myself a Creative Counsellor.

I was trained, initially, as an Orthoptist working with the Eye Muscles. As such I have always been interested in Perception and Awareness. I gradually became more interested in the emotional side of visual disorders, and decided to train as a Counsellor.

After my basic training I studied Art Therapy for a year and then Gestalt for another year. More recently, I have studied the theory behind Colour Therapy and the way colour is incorporated into our lives almost unconsciously.

So, in my therapy I will incorporate visualisation, imagework and sometimes meditation, where appropriate.

I I have also completed another training programme in Reflexology and have gained my professional qualification with the Association of Reflexologists. I find that counselling and reflexology work well together in many cases.

I worked for many years in the NHS , using my counselling insight to help children and adults with their emotional problems. Until recently I was Counsellor in a College of Further Education . I have now retired from both posts and work solely in my private practice.

Much of my interest is taken up with Online Counselling and the way this medium can help people who may be isolated geographically become more connected to others, and to the world around them.
